How to Calculate Win Percentage

Win percentage shows how often a team or player wins out of all games played. It is one of the simplest ways to compare records across a season.

Win percentage formula

Win percentage = (Wins / Total games) × 100

If there are draws, use:

Win percentage = (Wins / (Wins + Losses + Draws)) × 100

Example 1: basic win percentage

A team wins 18 games out of 24.

1. Wins = 18
2. Total games = 24
3. 18 / 24 = 0.75
4. 0.75 × 100 = 75%

The win percentage is 75%.

Example 2: record with draws

A player has 12 wins, 5 losses, and 3 draws.

1. Total matches = 12 + 5 + 3 = 20
2. 12 / 20 = 0.6
3. 0.6 × 100 = 60%
